Employment History

When I reflect upon my work experience I can see the progression which led me to where I am today. My professional experience began when I was 17 working in television production. I worked for local television stations in various positions: audio technician, camera operator, tape editor, chyron and master control. I even learned how to produce the evening news. Television supported me throughout college. Then I challenged myself to relocate!

A friend helped me network into a tech support job for a short stint. Then another friend helped me land a position as a Campus Technologist. My job was to support an entire campus on all computers. There weren't enough hours in the day to manage the 2,000 computers and handful of servers. That job gave me my foundation for technical knowledge.

The long commute led me to the Austin school district with a bigger network to play on. After a few years, I needed a new challenge. I had already separated myself from the educational aspect of technology, so leaving the school district was a logical step. One of the largest computer companies offered me a great position and I became a Dell Systems Engineer. My job as an SE morphed from supporting K12 school districts to conducting technical demonstrations with customers all over the country. A hotel became home and I perfected my drive to the airport! Traveling sounds fun until you do it each week. So, another change was in order and that's where I am today. I am able to use some of my knowledge from my Master's degree as Training Coordinator for my team of Systems Engineers.

My journey continues as I am applying to an alternative teaching certification program, where I hope to be accepted. By next fall I could be in the classroom intriguing students to learn while fulfilling my need to make a difference!
